  Address on return and on mailing envelope are different

Q. Why does the return envelope the Department sent with my sales tax return show a different P.O. Box, than the return address shown on the return?


A. The Department maintains many P.O. Boxes.  Generally, a tax return is processed more efficiently when it is mailed using the return envelope provided with the return.  However, if you have misplaced or lost the return envelope, you should mail the return to the address that is printed on the return.
